Move over, ‘Magic Mike’: Magicians are the latest bachelorette party accessory

Mar 9, 2026, 9:15 AM

Finally found my new side gig!

First, it was the matching pajamas. Then it was the destination weekend in Tulum. Now, the latest must-have for the bachelorette party itinerary is… a magician?

Yes, you read that correctly. A growing number of bachelorette groups are hiring illusionists to provide “wholesome, interactive entertainment” for their bridal weekends. It is a bold move for a demographic that usually prioritizes loud music and questionable decision-making over the mechanics of a coin trick.

The trend, which has recently bubbled up on social media, sees bachelorette groups hiring magicians to perform close-up magic, card tricks, and the occasional mind-reading act at private events. It appears that for the modern bride, the thrill of guessing a card’s suit is now preferable to the thrill of a choreographed dance routine.

It is a curious pivot for a celebration traditionally centered on, well, rowdiness. However, as bachelorette parties increasingly turn into multi-day, curated excursions worthy of a Pinterest board, the inclusion of a professional rabbit-puller feels like the logical conclusion of an arms race to make one’s “last night of freedom” the most memorable—and mildly nerdy—event possible.

Whether this is a genuine shift toward nerdy novelty or just another excuse for a curated photo opportunity remains to be seen.
