Getting stuck in a Colorado missile silo could cost you $5000

After 2 people have had to be rescued in missile silos in Colorado, one fire department is saying they will now charge $5,000 for rescuing you.

The Sable Altura Fire Department says they will begin charging the $5000 fine to those who need to be rescued if they trespass and get trapped in many of the abandoned missile silos around the area after several people have broken into them

Over the 2 years 5 people have had to be saved including an 18-year woman who needed to be rescued 60 feet underground and needed to be treated for carbon dioxide exposure.

There are 11 abandoned missile silo’s in the Colorado area and many agencies have warned of the dangerous conditions in them both structurally and with toxic air, water and soil conditions.
