A black bear cub moved into a tree at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. Zoo officials said they had been watching it to see if it was truly an orphan and if the mama bear would come to get it. Unfortunately, the bear cub is an orphan and was in need of help.
The zoo says they teamed up with the Colorado Parks and Wildlife’s Southeast Region to safely remove the male cub from the zoo’s tree. The cub was determined to be in good health and is off to a rehabilitation center before being released back into the wild.
