Colorado’s ‘Oatmeal Cream Pie Bandit’ caught after raiding farm stand twice, police say

May 22, 2026, 10:00 PM

You can sleep easier tonight knowing that the case of Colorado’s “Oatmeal Cream Pie Bandit” has been cracked!

Loveland police have charged a woman they say was caught on surveillance video twice raiding an honor-system farm stand operated by Gone Astray Goods, a sourdough micro-bakery on Boxelder Drive. Owner Stephanie Courville said the woman first showed up a few weeks ago with an oversized bag, loaded it with nearly the entire batch of homemade oatmeal cream pies — a flavor the bakery’s followers had voted on — grabbed more items in her arms, said “thanks” to the security camera and walked away without paying.

“I think I had five left after that, I ended up putting out, so like five other people got oatmeal cream pies,” Courville said in a video update posted to social media May 10.

The woman returned weeks later and hit the stand again. This time, Courville said, she was watching the live feed, confronted the woman and followed her vehicle — reported to be a Range Rover with Rhode Island plates — as the driver tried to back out of the neighborhood to avoid the camera. Courville captured the license plate on video and turned the footage over to Loveland police, who identified and charged the suspect. Courville said she is seeking full restitution for both incidents, including goods stolen from a neighboring vendor who shares the stand.

The surveillance clips went viral after Courville posted them to Facebook and Instagram, drawing millions of views and earning the suspect her bakery-bestowed nickname. Gone Astray Goods restocks its farm stand on Fridays.
