The Olympic games get underway Friday July 24th in Paris. There have been so many rumors and ‘sightings’ hitting the news about what is in store for the Olympic Games Opening Ceremony.
Instead of athletes walking around a track, the Paris Olympics will see the competitors parading through the French capital on boats down the River Seine (Sen). Besides that there is a long list of entertainers that are ‘rumored’ to be getting ready to perform.
Here is who Newsweek believes will be performing at some point during the Paris Olympics Opening Ceremony:
- Celine Dion – First, Dion is a French-Canadian and has been seen in Paris and according to some reports was offered $2 Million to perform. Dion’s health struggles have been highly publicized as she is struggling with Stiff Person Syndrome.
- Lady Gaga – Gaga whose mother is French is rumored be to among the performers.
- Aya Nakamura – France’s biggest singer and has 25 top 10 singles in France.
- Taylor Swift – the U.S. pop singer is currently on a break from her Eras Tour and so far her appearance is just rumor.
- Christine and the Queens – Is a French pop star whose real name is Héloïse Adélaïde Letissier and had a music track promoting the Olympics last year.
Wednesday TMZ reported this from a Paris Olympic official regarding the $2 Million dollar payment rumor to Dion.
“Contrary to some media reports, the performers at the Paris 2024 Games ceremonies will not receive a fee for their performance,” a spokesperson for the Olympics told us Wednesday.
