Valarie Allman – Gold

Valarie Allman, hailing from Longmont, secured her second consecutive Olympic title in the discus throw. The Silver Creek High School alum achieved a distance of 68.74 meters on her second attempt and 69.50 meters on her fourth, ultimately earning the gold medal and surpassing competitors Feng Bin from China and Sandra Elkasevic from Croatia.

Lindsey Horan – Gold

Lindsey Horan, from Golden, played a pivotal role on the women’s soccer team. As an attacking midfielder, she led the team to victory, securing a gold medal after previously earning bronze in the Tokyo Games and failing to medal in Rio.

Jordyn Poulter – Silver

Jordyn Poulter, an Aurora resident, is celebrating her second Olympic medal with the women’s volleyball team. She previously secured a gold medal in Tokyo and has now added a silver medal from Paris to her collection.

Sophia Smith – Gold

Sophia Smith, hailing from Windsor, was one of the top scorers in the tournament. She netted three goals and provided an assist during the Olympics, contributing to the powerhouse offense alongside Swanson.

Mallory Swanson – Gold

Mallory Swanson, from Highlands Ranch, played a pivotal role on the United States women’s soccer team. As one of the leading scorers in the Olympic tournament, Swanson netted four goals, including the decisive goal in the final match against Brazil. Her outstanding performance propelled the team to secure the gold medal, a title they had not achieved since the 2012 London Olympics.

Emma Weber – Gold

Emma Weber, Boulder resident, made history as the first athlete from Colorado to secure a medal at the 2024 Olympics. The Regis Jesuit High School graduate participated in the women’s 4×100 swim medley relay heat on Saturday. Although she was substituted for the final on Sunday, Team USA achieved a world record and clinched the gold medal.

Derrick White – Gold

Derrick White, from Parker, took to the court in the spring as part of the Boston Celtics, vying for the NBA championship. Although fans in Colorado may not have been cheering for him throughout the NBA season, he still contributed to the state’s achievements by bringing home a gold medal.
