British rock band brothers, Oasis said on Tuesday they would reunite after 15 years. Brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher are planning a series of live shows in the United Kingdom next year.
Oasis, whose debut album “Definitely Maybe” was released 30 years ago, split in 2009 when lead guitarist and main songwriter Noel Gallagher said he could no longer work with his brother and frontman, Liam Gallagher.
“This is it, this is happening,” the band said, announcing tickets would go on sale on Saturday. The first show will be held in Cardiff, Wales, on July 4, 2025.
On it’s website, the band said, “The guns have fallen silent. The stars have aligned. The great wait is over. Come see. It will not be televised.”
In 2009 the band couldn’t keep the music going because of sibling rivalry. Liam, known as the arrogant frontman and Noel…the genius writer behind the hits had had enough of each other. Since then…the brothers have performed separately.
A tour in 2025 will mark the 30th anniversary of Oasis’ second album “(What’s the Story) Morning Glory?”, which included the singles “Don’t Look Back in Anger” and “Wonderwall.”
Oasis has sold an estimated 75 million albums. Their hit, “Wonderwall” has been streamed more than 3 billion times.
Why now after 15 years? There are rumors that one of the Gallagher brothers recently went through a costly divorce. Read that here here.
