Watch: Chris Martin’s Taylor Swift gesture praised by Swifties

It should come as no surprise that Taylor Swift as a lot of admirers in the music industry as she pays tribute to so many of them.
On Wednesday, Coldplay performed at Vienna’s Ernst Happel Stadium — the same venue Taylor Swift was supposed to perform at before the shows were canceled in the wake of a foiled terrorist plot. So Coldplay rewarded the Swifties in their audience with their own version of one of her signature hits.
In some fan footage, Chris Martin, along with opening act Maggie Rogers, pulled two women from the crowd to quiz them on their Taylor Swift knowledge, asking about the first single from the album Midnights. But then he quickly backed off, saying, “I trust you. You’re true Swifties.”
“We perform this song with so much love for Taylor and for all the Swifties out there,” Martin shared. “And we also sing it with love for the young folks who get caught up in doing dumb stuff, sending them our love too.”
He was alluding to the fact that one of the individuals arrested in a terror plot had shown support for ISIS.
Martin then addressed the audience, saying, “If this doesn’t go well, please don’t upload it to YouTube because I don’t want to get in trouble with Taylor,” before diving into an acoustic rendition of “Love Story.”
As he kicked off the song, the crowd erupted with excitement. Rogers joined him for the second part of the first verse and chorus, then handed the mic to the two fans to sing, “Baby just say yes.”
She continued with the second verse and wrapped up the song, including that epic key change into the final verse, while the audience sang along and the fans swayed.
