Taylor Swift has addressed the public for the first time following the cancellation of three dates on her Eras Tour due to a thwarted terror plot, explaining her initial decision to remain silent.
In a detailed Instagram post shared after completing the European segment of her tour, Swift described her final performances in London as a “rollercoaster of emotions,” particularly after the cancellation of three shows in Vienna due to security concerns. “The cancellation of our Vienna shows was heartbreaking. The circumstances surrounding it instilled a new sense of fear in me, along with a significant amount of guilt for those who had planned to attend,” she expressed in her post on August 21. “However, I am immensely thankful to the authorities; because of their actions, we are mourning canceled concerts rather than lives lost.”
On August 7, it was reported that two Austrian individuals, aged 19 and 17, were arrested in relation to a planned attack on her performances, which were set to occur at the Ernst Happel Stadium in Vienna from August 8 to 10.
