Do you ever wonder why the swimmers at the Olympics wear winter coats?

I know you wondered as I did as to why the swimmers both men and women wear those heavy winter coats before they do their swim. Apparently this one is for the same reason you and warm-up before we workout. Cold muscles are bad when you are about to do something athletic. The coats keep an athlete warm and their muscles loose.
Typically, the looser a swimmer can be, the better chance they’ll swim well. I would not suggest you wear one of these winter coats to your neighborhood pool people.
