Cherry Creek State Park is fully open

Jan 30, 2024, 9:08 AM | Updated: 9:08 am

Remember the heavy rain we had last may for 3 straight days?  The Cherry Creek Reservoir rose 10 feet after the 6 inches of rain fell.  They said it was the largest single event increase in water levels since 1955. It caused 1,700 square feet of road and bank damage ranging up to 4 feet deep. The reconstruction of East Lake View Road and its culverts began in November and cost about $607,000.  The road was closed for 8 months after this damage but was officially  reopen for use on Friday.
