Forget the pundits. The hottest World Cup analyst right now has whiskers, a yellow collar, and zero interest in your fantasy bracket.
Billy is a one-year-old British Shorthair from Newry, Northern Ireland, and he’s correctly predicted the winner of all 19 World Cup matches so far. Every. Single. One.
Here’s how it works: his owner Linka Lin, 33, holds up two flags before each game, and Billy taps his pick with his paw. Simple as that. His latest correct call? Argentina over Austria.
Linka and her partner Mark Kelly, 35, say Billy doesn’t seem too impressed with his newfound internet fame. “To us he’s still our cat, still Billy,” Linka told reporters. He has, however, noticed the extra treats.
No word yet on whether Vegas has him on speed dial. I would definitely think about it. Or take the cat to the track under my coat.
