Pokémon is coming to Denver—and bringing fossils!

If you have a Pokémon fan in your house, here’s something to put on next year’s calendar!
The Pokémon Fossil Museum exhibition opens at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science on May 28, 2027, and runs through January 2, 2028. Museum members will get an early look on May 27.
The exhibition pairs real fossils and specimen casts with Pokémon, giving families a chance to compare prehistoric creatures with their fictional counterparts. One example: a cast of the famous SUE the T. rex skull displayed alongside Tyrantrum, a Rock/Dragon-type Pokémon. Visitors will also explore how fossils are discovered and studied in both the real world and the Pokémon world.
For parents with a dinosaur lover AND a Pokémon collector, this sounds like an easy family outing to agree on. And if your kids usually have to explain every Pokémon character to you, you can learn together.
Tickets aren’t available yet, but the museum has an interest list on its website. Signing up gives fans access to ticket updates and an exclusive presale before tickets become available to the general public.
