Former Blake Street Tavern near Coors Field re-opening

Blake Street Tavern, one of downtown’s most iconic sports bars is making a comeback. I have so many fun memories of Blake Street Tavern.

Blake Street Tavern, which closed in April 2023 after 20 years in business, is set to reopen as Tavern on Blake Street under new co-owners Ashley and Jeff Moerke. The couple said they are targeting late April or early May, pending final approval of a liquor license.

“As soon as that liquor license comes through the door, we’re open,” Jeff Moerke said.

Ashley Moerke, a former bartender at the original tavern, called the space “a melting pot” and “a place for everybody.” The couple operates several restaurant concepts through their Harper + Hudson Hospitality Group. They are also really cool people that believe in creating inviting atmospheres with good food and drinks.

The new version will preserve much of what made the original a game-day staple while introducing fresh elements. The reopening will miss Rockies Opening Day but land in the heart of baseball season.
