Will Denver skip over fall and go straight from summer to winter?

Denver has been unexpectedly hot this season, but even with the warm weather, the Mile High City won’t miss out on the fall temperatures. But you might have to wait awhile.
Usually, Denver starts to feel like fall around the end of September and into the start of October, during this time, temperatures tend to dip into the 60s and 70s and stay around that before cooling down for the winter. However, this fall season started unusually warm.
This year was the hottest September in history, with an average temperature of 70 degrees-about 5 degrees warmer than the typical September in Denver. Not only was the temperature warmer than usual, but the city also saw multiple 90-degrees, overtaking a heat record that held for almost two decades.
While fall technically began in September and will last through November, this warm weather doesn’t mean Denver will skip over the fall season. Even though the warm temperatures are lasting longer than usual, we won’t miss the fall weather, it will just be a little later this season.
Instead of the winter turning from summer to winter, there will be a gradual decline where temperatures will stay in the 60s and 70s and finally dip during the second half of October.
Along with the above-average fall heat, the temperature outlook keeps Denver above average for the rest of he year and early into next year.
