While summer-like weather is still in the Denver forecast, one popular winter train ride just announce it’s return.
The THE POLAR EXPRESS™ Train Ride is headed to the North Pole on the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad. The ride is an ode to the childhood book and movie “The Polar Express.” The train ride runs through the winter when passengers, many in pajamas, board the train that takes them to the North Pole. On the 65-minute ride, guests can listen to book readings and see dancing chefs serve hot chocolate and cookies.
At the North Pole, there is a light shoe before the train makes its way back home. On the way back there’s a visit from Santa and his elves, and each passenger will get their first gift of Christmas.
It might not feel like winter yet, but the train ride is already preparing for another season, which begins on Friday, Nov. 22, through Saturday, Jan.4,2025
Tickets are on sale now and adult prices range from $39-93, while children’s tickets range from $29-83 depending on the train, service and date. Get tickets here.
Also, closer to the Denver area the Colorado Railroad Museum announced THE POLAR EXPRESS™ Train Ride is returning in 2024. They say it offers a unique, three-part theatrical extravaganza of Holiday Magic. Holiday Caroling and the “Hot Chocolate” song and dance kick things off each evening, performed in our dazzling, heated POLAR EXPRESS™ Pavilion. A ride to the North Pole aboard vintage coaches, pulled by an authentic, coal-fired steam locomotive, is next. And finally, visiting with Santa tops off the experience!
