Who makes the best King Cake in the Denver area?
It’s a tradition in our family to indulge in a traditional King Cake as we approach Lent.
One of the best we’ve found in the Denver area is from Rheinlander Bakery in Arvada.
Rheinlander is a family business owned by Loren and Luke Naftz. The bakery was previously owned by Ed and Maro Dimmer, second generation owners of the bakery and when they retired they passed it to Loren and Luke. Loren has a degree in Baking and Pastry Arts from Johnson and Wales University.
Rheinlander offers 7 variations of the King Cake: Traditional, Almond, Cinnamon, Cream Cheese, Strawberry Cream Cheese, Blueberry Lemon, and Lemon Poppyseed.

Craving a King cake but don’t have anyone to share with? You can go in any day and get yourself a personal sized one, complete with a baby and beads! These ‘Prince’ cakes will be available daily through Fat Tuesday.

Also, a portion of all King Cake sales are donated to the local Red Cross!
Rheinlander Bakery is in Olde Town Arvada at 5721 Olde Wadsworth Blvd and is open Monday – Sunday 8am – 6pm.
