‘Toy Story 5’ set to feature Combat Carl and Combat Carl Jr., despite the passing of Carl Weathers

One of my favorite kid/adult animated comedies is getting a new voice. The reason is sad, but the casting is spot on for a replacement.

“Toy Story 5” is set to feature Combat Carl and Combat Carl Jr., despite the passing of Carl Weathers, who voiced the characters in previous films.

Ernie Hudson has been cast to take over the roles, bringing his own unique touch to the characters. Hudson, known for his role in “Ghostbusters,” will be part of the upcoming “Toy Story” installment, as well as another Disney-related project.

Fans can look forward to seeing Combat Carl in action once again when “Toy Story 5” hits theaters in 2026.
