Kirk Barnett is the founder of Live Out Proud. As a gay man growing up in the South, Kirk felt that being gay was not going to be accepted. In college, he found his best friend, Amy, and they had a family with two kids. Years later, Kirk was hurting from his secret, and had to share his truth with his family. Through love and communication, they are still a loving family.

Kirk has become a beacon to help men like himself transition out of stigmas and shame and into their own true selves.
