Taron Egerton Shares Footage From Elton John Biopic ‘Rocketman’

Footage from Elton John biopic Rocketman was screened at the Troubadour nightclub in West Hollywood. Taron Egerton is playing the role of the music legend in the movie. The gay singer’s husband David Furnish introduced Egerton and supporting cast members Bryce Dallas Howard and Jamie Bell at the 15-minute screening. “His entire life changed when he broke America,” Furnish, who is a producer on Rocketman, said of Elton from the stage. Paramount Pictures’ Jim Gianopulos and Wyck Godfrey also attended Monday night’s event. Elton skipped the event but sent a message via video, saying, “Sit back and enjoy.” The film depicts Elton’s days at the Royal Academy of Music to his rise on the rock ‘n’ roll scene of the 1970s and ’80s.
