Coulda, shoulda, woulda is what actor David Schwimmer is saying. David recently admitted on a podcast that he was offered to star in Men In Black back in the day when he was riding high on his Friends popularity.
At the time, Schwimmer was coming off a movie flop with Gwentheth Paltrow and he wanted to direct his acting friends in a movie.
“I don’t know if I made the right choice,” Schwimmer said. “I mean, if you look at the success of that film, and that franchise….my career would be in a very different [place]. Might have taken — probably would have taken a very different trajectory. However, my theater company and that relationship with all those people would probably have ended,” he admitted on the podcast. “I don’t think it would have recovered. Those people had quit their jobs to do that movie.”
No word on which character he was offered but Men In Black went on to star Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones and the 1997 film went on to gross nearly $600 million internationally at the box office, having an additional two sequels with the original cast.
