Here is a quick update on the fires, plural, burning in the state currently.
The Alexander Mountain Fire began shortly before noon on Monday in the mountains west of Sylvan Dale Ranch. A wildfire burning in northern Colorado west of Loveland had spread to 5,080 acres with 0 percent containment as of Tuesday night.
Stone Canyon Fire, north of Lyons, grows to 1,320 acres with 0 percent contained. Two structures have been lost in the fire, Boulder emergency managers said.
The Quarry Fire has burned about 100 acres in the area of Deer Creek Canyon Road just west of Grizzly Drive. Firefighters from multiple agencies are responding. A sheriff’s deputy patrolling a Jeffco open space in the area spotted the fire around 9 p.m. Still showing 0 percent contained and growing. As of the 7 a.m. press conference, first responders were not aware of any structures lost or injuries due to the fire.
