New trail that goes 177 miles around Denver

By Melissa Moore on April 26, 2024

It took a newcomer to literally make the connection of a trail that goes around metro Denver.  Mike Tormey moved to the Denver metro area last year for work.  He’s also an avid walker and goes out on 10-15 mile walks.  He decided to see if he could come up with a trail that would go around the Denver metro area and he put together one.

Tormey created the DOT or Denver Orbital Trail that circles around the Denver area connecting existing trails, path and greenways.

The trail is also split into 28 smaller segments that can be done by themselves and has parking nearby. Tormey breaks down the distance of each segment and how difficult it – plus he has pictures.
