Monarch Butterflies to Grace Colorado This Spring

Get ready, Coloradans! Millions of dazzling monarch butterflies are embarking on their epic 3,000-mile journey from Mexico to Canada this spring. And guess what? They’ll be fluttering through Colorado, turning the sky into a mesmerizing kaleidoscope of colors!  

This breathtaking migration is vital for plant reproduction and wildlife conservation. In fact, The Butterfly Pavilion in Westminster is on a mission to track and protect these winged wonders through their Colorado Butterfly Monitoring Network. They’re calling on enthusiastic volunteers like you to join the fun and help monitor the monarch population. 

Want to be a hero for the butterflies? You can make a difference by planting native milkweed and nectar plants, steering clear of pesticides, and supporting local conservation efforts. As summer wraps up, the monarchs will head back to Mexico, giving you another chance to marvel at this jaw-dropping natural phenomenon.   Let’s make Colorado a paradise for these beautiful travelers!
