Video shows a man climbing out of his roller coaster seat seconds before the coaster drops and takes off. In the video, you can see the man narrowly escape a scary moment onboard the double-loop Desert Storm roller coaster at the Castles N’ Coasters amusement park in Phoenix.
The man said that the man wants everyone to know that parks can be negligent. Arizona, where this happened is among the 44 states that regulate its parks.
It is required by state law for parks to have private insurance companies inspect rides each year.
The man said that he was concerned before they left the station. The attendant did not properly check his seat belt.
He then said that as the ride went up the first climb…he heard the clicking of the chain and right before they reached the summit, the man heard a different click and realized his seatbelt was not secure.
He made a quick decision to get off the ride as fast as possible. Seconds later and he would have gone off with the coaster.
