Denver’s inflation versus the rest of the country

It may feel like there is no end to the increasing cost of life. According to the Pew Research Center, inflation after the pandemic rose to its highest rate since the 1980s. That rate has slowed down, but for some it still feels high. The year over year average inflation rate for the country is 3.3%.
How does the Denver metro area compare to other parts of the country? According to the Associated Press, inflation did cool over April and May and since March Denver’s inflation has risen 0.6% – making it one of the lowest in the country. The Denver-Lakewood-Aurora metro area tied for the fifth lowest inflation rate over the last few months.
A new study by WalletHub looked at individual metro areas and compared inflation. The worst city for inflation – the Honolulu area with 5.2%. The lowest inflation increase went to the Tampa/St. Petersburg area with 1.8%.
How did Denver compare over the past year? Denver came in at 2.6%.
