Way to go Thornton! I have family up there and spend a LOT of time in Thornton and I would say it is amazing and people are so nice!

The National Council for Home Safety and Security Trade Association just released their list of the Top 100 Safest Cities in America and named Thornton as their #1 pick! Citing the most recent statistics from the FBI Uniform Crime Report, the Home Safety and Security Trade Association ranked cities with a population of over 50,000 based on the number of reported violent and property crimes, as well as officer count, in which Thornton (population 133,188) reported the least as 325 violent and 3,373 property crimes.

In addition to the statistics, the Council mentioned Thornton’s stellar parks system, noting that Thornton “contains over 80 miles of trails for hiking and bird watching.”
