Costco forced to recall 80,000 tubs of butter for this dumb reason

Costco had to recall almost 80,000 pounds of butter for lacking a disclaimer about milk. That’s right, 80,000 pounds of butter had to be recalled because the label did not include a warning that butter contains milk. Smh. I understand you need to make sure the label is correct before it leaves the warehouse but this is silly.
The initial recall went out in October for both salted and unsalted Kirkland Signature Sweet Cream Butter.
However, while the ingredients list does include cream, the packages don’t include an allergy warning for the milk. Seriously? That food has to go to waste because consumers don’t know that milk is a main ingredient in butter? Or that milk is a main ingredient in cream?
I, along with other people just thought that this was common knowledge.
One user on the internet said, “Next they’ll recall beef that might contain cow.”
“Can y’all please safely dispose of it at my house? I have a lot of holiday baking to do,” another quipped.
I agree. I will gladly take the butter. Unsalted or salted.
