At 83 years old, Colorado resident Bobbi Oxford finally got to check off a lifelong dream—getting behind the wheel of a race car. Growing up, she always wanted to race like her brother, but back then, being a girl meant she wasn’t given the chance.
That all changed thanks to AARP’s “Wish of a Lifetime” charity, which made her dream come true at Pikes Peak International Raceway. While she didn’t quite hit NASCAR speeds, she still got up to around 90 miles per hour—plenty fast enough to feel the thrill of the track.
For Bobbi, the experience was unforgettable. She said it was the best moment of her life, aside from having kids. What an incredible way to prove that it’s never too late to chase a dream!
