This Brighton Couple Spends Over a Year Crafting Their Front-Yard Halloween Display

A Brighton couple has turned their front yard into a Halloween display that is part spooky, part funny and part neighborhood group chat come to life.
Bache Rojas and his wife, Misty, have spent more than a year creating the display at their home at 1298 Lark Ave. It features hand-painted gravestones and playful, slightly passive-aggressive takes on everyday neighborhood frustrations.
This year’s theme takes aim at things like speeding and porch piracy, but in a way that feels more “Halloween humor” than “angry HOA email.” Honestly, if you can call out bad drivers with a fake gravestone and a skeleton, that is public service.
The display has become a local attraction, drawing visitors from Brighton and even from an hour away. The couple says the goal is to give the community something fun to enjoy leading up to Halloween.
The scene is described as whimsical but also a little thought-provoking, which is impressive for a yard full of gravestones. Most of us are just trying to untangle one string of lights and find the missing extension cord.
Anyone who wants to check it out can visit the display at 1298 Lark Ave. in Brighton before Halloween.
Just maybe drive slowly when you get there. It sounds like the yard has opinions.
