Denver to start scooter and e-bike enforcement against VEO

Denver is putting Veo on notice over scooter and E-Bike violations.
The company VEO will be sited every time one of its riders does not follow proper bike lane protocol.
Walking down the sidewalk shouldn’t feel like you accidentally wandered into a bike lane. And getting around a parked scooter shouldn’t require stepping into the street.
Denver is putting Veo on notice. Starting November 1, the city will begin enforcing sidewalk violations against the shared scooter and e-bike company after a city review found it wasn’t complying with parts of its contract and city rules.
Those rules prohibit sidewalk riding under most circumstances, along with improper parking.
Since July 1, the city’s ordinance has placed responsibility for compliance on the company providing the rides.
A scooter or e-bike can be a convenient way to get around Denver without dealing with parking. But pedestrians need room, too—especially someone using a wheelchair, pushing a stroller or walking with kids.
The big question is whether enforcement will actually change what happens on our sidewalks. Holding the company accountable is one piece. Riders making responsible choices is another.
What do you think? Do you think this is going to be easily enforceable?
