Colorado can’t spell this word

May 28, 2024, 5:46 PM | Updated: 10:37 pm

Colorado was among nine states searching for words with 11 or more letters, asking Google how to spell “ingredients.”

Wisconsin asked Google how to spell “ally” and Virginians needed to see how the 4 letter word “said” is spelled.

Ironic and maybe a little accurate for the states of California who searched the most for how to spell “pretty” and Mississippi, who asked the most about the word “nervous.”

Americans have a few questions about which spelling of a word is the right one, like “color,” and “colour.” Another highly searched-for comparison was “capital” vs. “capitol,” and which one is correct depends on the context. Is it “canceled” or “cancelled?”

Google put together a map of the words searched by each state that they had the most trouble spelling over the last year.
