A Colorado cat has gone viral on TikTok with a $5,000 gold tooth. This is such a great story! The cat, named Tofu, was adopted from Foothills Animal Shelter in Golden, Colorado, and she loves to chew things. She broke her tooth while chewing on a toy music box.
Her owner took her to a dental specialist, who offered two options: extract the tooth or attempt to save it with a root canal and a hypoallergenic gold-alloy crown. Since Tofu is still under three years old and full of life, the owner chose to save the tooth.
Side note: the $5,000 cost wasn’t just because the tooth was gold—it covered all the fees associated with dental work for pets.
