What’s Up Colorado: Things to do this 4th of July weekend

It’s 4th of July weekend, and this year America celebrates its 250th birthday! There are plenty of fireworks, parades and patriotic celebrations happening across Colorado! But, if you’re looking for a few other fun ways to spend the weekend, here are some ideas. 

Ed Sheeran at Empower Field 

Ed Sheeran is back in Colorado with his 2026 stadium “LOOP Tour.” He plays Empower Field at Mile High on Saturday night. Last time he was here, he broke the stadium’s single-night attendance record, so expect a big night in Denver!  

Greeley Stampede 

The Greeley Stampede continues through Sunday at Island Grove Regional Park. This Colorado tradition features rodeo, concerts, carnival rides, food, vendors and plenty of Western fun!  More info: GreeleyStampede.org 

Rockies Fireworks Games 

The Colorado Rockies take on the San Francisco Giants at Coors Field Friday and Saturday night, with fireworks planned after each game. It’s one of the classic ways to celebrate the holiday weekend in Denver. More info: Rockies.com/Tickets 

Cherry Creek Arts Festival 

The Cherry Creek Arts Festival returns Friday through Sunday in Cherry Creek North. The free festival features more than 260 artists, live music, food, drinks and hands-on art activities for kids.   More info: CherryCreekArtsFestival.org 

Breckenridge July Art Festival 

Head to the mountains for the 42nd annual Breckenridge July Art Festival, running Thursday through Saturday. The juried show features artists in a variety of categories, plus demonstrations and original works for sale. More info: MountainArtFestivals.com 

Repticon at Arapahoe County Fairgrounds 

Reptile fans can check out Repticon on Saturday and Sunday. The family-friendly event features reptiles, amphibians, exotic animals, supplies, merchandise and expert advice from breeders and educators. Details HERE
