National BBQ Day: Poll finds most popular barbecue food mashups

It’s officially grilling season. So, what are you cooking up? A recent poll found our favorite food to grill is burgers, with over 70 percent of the vote. And, an informal BuzzFeed poll backed that up.

Over 15,000 people voted on popular barbecue food matchups. For each matchup, you can only pick one…
1. Burgers or dogs? Burgers got 78 percent of the vote, hot dogs 22 percent.
2. Chicken or pulled pork? 47 percent said chicken…46 percent said pork…and 7 percent wouldn’t touch either of them.
3. Sausage or ribs? Ribs won with 56 percent of the vote.
4. Potato salad or coleslaw? 66 percent chose potato salad.
5. Macaroni salad or mac-and-cheese? Mac-and-cheese of course won, with 77 percent of the vote.
6. Watermelon or pineapple? 69 percent said shut up, it’s obviously watermelon.
7. Baked beans or cornbread? Cornbread with 58 percent.
8. Grilled veggies or corn on the cob? Not even close. Corn on the cob with 70 percent of the vote.
