John Elway involved in golf cart incident that led to Jeff Sperbeck’s death

Former Denver Broncos quarterback John Elway was driving a golf cart when his longtime agent and business partner, Jeff Sperbeck, fell and suffered a fatal head injury. According to TMZ, Elway called 911, and when paramedics arrived, Sperbeck was reportedly unconscious but still breathing. The two were golfing at the Madison Club in California on Saturday when the accident happened. Sperbeck fell off the back of the moving golf cart, rolled over and then hit his head on the concrete. TMZ said Sperbeck suffered a traumatic brain injury. The Riverside County Coroner confirmed Sperbeck’s passing Wednesday.
Elway and Sperbeck had been close friends and business partners since the 1990s.
