Pantry secret to weed-free garden

Ah, spring — the season of blooming flowers, chirping birds and…weeds. Lots and lots of weeds. You know how it goes: you pick one weed, and twenty new ones pop up. Fear not! Listener Brett came to the rescue with an all-natural way to get rid of those garden pests. It’s a solution made from ingredients you already have in your kitchen. Here it is:
Ingredients:
- 1 gallon of white vinegar
- 1 tablespoon of dish soap (like Dawn)
- Optional: 1 cup of salt
Instructions:
- Mix the ingredients thoroughly in a spray container
- Spray directly onto the weeds, ensuring you cover the leaves and stems
I Googled it to learn more, and apparently the acid in vinegar breaks down the cell walls of the weed, eventually causing it to die.
I’m going to try this myself, and I’ll let you know if it works! Thanks, listener Brett!
