Harvested from the Tongass National Forest last month, the 74-foot Sitka spruce will be delivered to the U.S. Capitol’s West Lawn on Friday, Nov. 22. A 4,000-mile journey will see the large Christmas tree travel by boat and by truck, on a custom trailer. The tree is making 11 whistle-stops on its tour to the nation’s capitol, including TODAY in Loveland, Colorado.
Today it will be at The Ranch Events Complex in Loveland from 4 to 7 p.m.
The public is invited to come and see the tree, as well as get free stickers and pins while learning about Alaska’s national forests and the 54-year tradition of the U.S. Forest Service providing the tree. The Loveland tour stop will also have hot cocoa, crafts and a visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus.
