The KOSI gang is all prepared for Colorado’s brightest holiday tradition and that would be the 9News Parade of Lights that we have been a part of for years,. This year the Parade of Lights will celebrate its 50th anniversary on Saturday, December 7th in downtown Denver.
Produced by the Downtown Denver Partnership, this Colorado holiday tradition dates back to 1975 and has grown into the largest and most-watched parade in the Rocky Mountain region. The holiday parade, which is free to attend, will have more than 40 illuminated floats, helium-filled character balloons, marching bands, equestrian units and a special appearance from Santa Claus. The KOSI team will have our float blaring out the Christmas music as is our tradition.
The parade will begin in front of the Denver City and County building before traveling through downtown Denver on a two-mile parade route. The parade then travels up Tremont street to 17th street where it goes northwest for several blocks before turning onto Arapahoe street. Finally, the parade loops back on 15th street to Glenarm.
As I said the Parade of Lights will begin at West 14th avenue and Bannock Street. You can get the best seats by purchasing grandstand seating right in front of the City and County building. That is limiting seating so get your tickets soon at the Parade of Lights website.
SEE YOU THERE!!!
