I was today years old when I found out that YES, broccoli is man-made:
Broccoli is the result of centuries of selective breeding of wild cabbage plants, a process that’s natural and sustainable. Farmers chose plants with the largest buds and bred them together to create broccoli.
Early varieties of broccoli were likely cultivated in the Mediterranean region during the Roman Empire in the 6th century BCE. The name broccoli comes from the Italian word broccolo, which means “the flowering crest of a cabbage”.
Broccoli is not a genetically modified organism (GMO) because its DNA hasn’t been changed
