It’s official….it’s hard to retire.

22% of Americans are working past retirement age. This according to a new survey from LendingTree data.

In Colorado, the number of people still working past retirement age is 27.3%

The study does not say if these are full time or part time hours. They just researched ages and who was still working.

In these five states, more than 30% of people are working past their retirement age.

New Jersey (33.8%)
North Dakota (32.3%)
Maryland (31.2%)
New Hampshire (30.9%)
Connecticut (30.3%)
However, in West Virginia and Missouri, less than 16% of older adults work past retirement age.
I can’t wait to retire and find a hobby or volunteer for an animal shelter. I really hope my finances are right when I get to that stage.
