The Denver Zoo is now Denver Zoo Conservation Alliance.
The zoo announced its new name, brand identity and logo on Tuesday.
The zoo, which has been around for 128 years, stated that its new name signifies its commitment to providing amazing experiences on its 80-acre campus, while also emphasizing its dedication to wildlife conservation in Colorado and around the world.
DZCA, as a zoo-based wildlife conservation organization, focuses on various aspects of conservation work such as research, sustainable practices, breeding and releasing wildlife, restoring habitats, and rescuing and rehabilitating animals.
The word ‘alliance’ in our new name is significant because conservation requires collaboration, and we need the support of our community including guests, members, donors, staff, volunteers, neighbors, and partners to fulfill our mission,” said Bert Vescolani, President and CEO of DZCA. “Together, our collective efforts can make a difference and create a world where wildlife thrives.”
“Our new identity as Denver Zoo Conservation Alliance pays tribute to our past achievements in connecting people with wildlife and protecting endangered species and habitats. It will also guide us into the future, where our work will become even more crucial,” said Brian Aucone, chief conservation officer of DZCA. “This marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter in our 128-year history, and we hope to inspire future generations of animal lovers and conservationists to join us.”
This is a great history of the Denver Zoo.
