Psychology Today says the popular 6-7 trend has turned into the new 6-7 dating trend.
The recent dating trend suggests going for a partner who is a ‘6’ or a ‘7’.
An average-looking person, according to the trend, is more stable, dependable, appreciative and emotionally available than their “10” counterparts.
It is a reaction to dating burnout, offering a more sustainable approach to building relationships by avoiding the pressure of immediate, intense commitment.
Rather than seeking a perfect, 10/10 partner, this trend focuses on selecting partners who are emotionally mature, stable and “good enough.”
The trend is largely driven by Gen Z’s desire for authenticity in the face of app-driven dating fatigue and a need for mental health boundaries. Read more about it here.
