Walk This Way: The longest and shortest airport walks in the US, Denver made the list.

Are you prepared for a workout while making your way to your departure gate? Many airports require a considerable amount of walking from the check-in area to the boarding gate, and with the ongoing growth in air travel that reached record levels in 2023, the distance between gates and terminals is likely to keep expanding.

As a result,  Kuru Footwear used both airport maps and Google Maps to determine both the longest and shortest distance from check-in to the gate.

 5 Longest Walks

  1. John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York City, 1.38 miles.
  2. Denver International Airport, 1.45 miles.
  3. George Bush Intercontinental Airport, Houston, 1.52 miles.
  4. Washington Dulles International Airport, Virginia, 1.62 miles.
  5. Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, 2.16 miles.

5 Shortest Walks

  1. Hollywood Burbank Airport, California, 0.2 miles.
  2. Lihue Airport, Hawaii, 0.18 miles.
  3. Harrisburg International Airport, Pennsylvania, 0.13 miles.
