A long-lost McDonaldland character is making a special appearance this week. In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the original Shamrock Shake fundraiser, Grimace’s uncle, Uncle O’Grimacey, is traveling all the way from Sham Rock, Ireland, to reunite with his nephew and mark this joyous occasion.
Uncle O’Grimacey, who hasn’t been seen in decades, will be making a rare appearance at a McDonald’s restaurant in Denver on Tuesday. From 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., you can catch him at 4780 N. Yampa St., located in the Green Valley Ranch neighborhood near Green Valley Ranch Boulevard and Tower Road. Fans will have the unique opportunity to meet him both in the drive-through and inside the restaurant.
Uncle O’Grimacey’s visit also marks the return of the beloved Shamrock Shake to participating McDonald’s locations nationwide for a limited time. Starting now until March 23, 25 cents from every Shamrock Shake sold will support local Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) families. McDonald’s aims to raise $5 million through this initiative, providing 50,000 overnight stays for families staying at RMHC programs.
