Titanic II set to sail with modern safety features

Jan 26, 2026, 5:33 PM

“All aboard the Titanic II!” Yes, you heard that right. The ship will be built starting this year by Australian billionaire, Clive Palmer. Make sure there are enough life boats. Is that really the answer?

Clive is planning to build a replica of the Titanic, and here’s the kicker—people actually want to sail on it. And not just anywhere… they want to follow the original ship’s route.

Let’s be real for a second: the original Titanic ended, well… tragically. So even with modern safety measures, I can’t help thinking… do we really need to tempt fate here?

Millions have dreamed of seeing the Titanic in port, walking the decks, experiencing that unique majesty. But maybe some dreams are better experienced from a movie theater or a cruise ship far, far away from any icebergs. And let’s be honest, part of what makes the Titanic story so dramatic is knowing what happens next. Why would you pay to relive that tension with your life at stake—literally? Only in our world would someone say, ‘Yeah, let’s recreate history… but this time, we’ll bring better lifeboats.’ I don’t know, call me cautious, but I’ll stick to the romance on screen and leave the iceberg-adjacent cruises to, well… other people.
