TikTok’s ‘2/3 Rule’ is helping people get ready quicker

Embrace the 2/3 rule for getting ready and relax a little more in 2026.
“Glamour” magazine says the “2/3 Rule” is trending on TikTok, and it is designed to reduce the mental load and time spent getting ready in the morning.
The concept dictates that you only need to complete two out of three key categories to look polished enough to leave the house, be it hair, makeup or your outfit. Low effort and high confidence control the 2/3 look.
The goal is to look put-together without high effort, making it ideal for busy mornings, working from home or during winter/post-holiday slumps. By choosing only two, you save time and energy while still looking stylish.
This method helps you prioritize your routine without sacrificing your look. For me, it’s always my outfit. I can tell you right now which one I sacrifice: a fancy outfit for me are blue jeans and Adidas that somehow match my shirt.
