Following Taylor Swift’s sold-out shows in Madrid, where over 130,000 fans attended, reports emerged of a COVID-19 outbreak among concertgoers.
So far thousands of attendees have tested positive for the virus, and new Omicron subvariants have raised concerns about a potential summer wave of cases.
Despite falling ill, many fans still consider the experience worth it and are willing to attend future shows.
“COVID, infected by Taylor Swift, I’ll sell my antigen test for 5000 euros!” one person wrote, as if the test was a Swiftie keepsake. Another said, “Taylor Swift is so cute – she included the new COVID variant as a surprise in the Eras Tour Madrid.”
