Coincidence? It’s been discovered that mega superstar Taylor Swift is distantly related to poet Emily Dickinson.

Ancestry.com has revealed that singer Taylor Swift is related to poet Emily Dickinson, with both being sixth cousins, three times removed. They share a common ancestor who was an early settler in Connecticut.

Swift has previously referenced Dickinson in her songwriting and fans have noted connections between Swift’s album Evermore and Dickinson’s work. Swift’s upcoming album, The Tortured Poets Department, is set for release in April, with Swift expressing how songwriting has been a crucial outlet for her during the past two years.
