No wedding gifts for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce

Jun 24, 2026, 7:23 PM

It’s really happening, Swifties.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce appear to be days away from tying the knot, and new details are dropping faster than a surprise album. According to TMZ, a permit was filed with New York City’s Street Activity Permit Office to close streets around Madison Square Garden from July 2nd through midday on July 4th for a July 3rd event. The application requests space for tents, canopies, and trucks to deliver and unload materials near the Garden, and allows for 500 to 999 attendees in the closed-off area.

Adding fuel to the fire, several Kansas City Chiefs players have reportedly booked rooms at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square around the wedding date. So yeah — this is not a drill.

But here’s the part that might surprise you: the couple reportedly told guests absolutely no gifts. That little detail came straight from San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle, who confirmed he and his wife Claire are invited. In an interview with Extra TV, Kittle said, “They said absolutely no gifts,” then added with a grin, “But I was thinking, Travis, for some reason, likes old coins, so I might get him an old coin.”

As for where the wedding is actually taking place? Even the guests don’t seem to know. Kittle told Entertainment Tonight, “I actually asked Travis last night and he laughed at me.” He went on to say, “I’m half expecting there to just be a jumbo jet on a runway and they put us on a plane somewhere. I don’t have expectations. I know it’s going to be amazing.”

One thing he does know? “I’m wearing a blue suit, so that’s all I’ve got.”

The couple reportedly paid around $3 million to rent MSG for three days — roughly $1 million per day — with one day for the celebration and two for setup and teardown. A massive custom stage is even being built at Rock Lititz, a production facility in Pennsylvania where major concert tours are assembled. Multiple reports suggest the MSG event may actually be the reception and party, not the ceremony itself, which could take place privately beforehand.

No matter what happens on July 3rd, it’s shaping up to be the wedding event of the decade. And somewhere in Times Square, George Kittle is ironing his blue suit.
